Crockett had fewer carries than Rountree in Crockett's final year, and he averaged fewer YPC than Rountree. He wouldn't have been the starter if he returned.
Nash was followed by Marcus Woods/Tony Temple, who were productive. They averaged about 4.8 YPC compared to 5.1 from Nash.
Josey was followed by Hansbrough/Murphy. They averaged about 5.2 YPC compared to 6.5 from Josey. That's the biggest drop off.
The biggest 'what if' running back in recent memory is Derrick Washington IMO since he was a beast as an underclassman and was replaced by De'vion Moore, but he also fell off a bit his junior year.
