It’s questionable. Somebody who may have said that to Matter could have had an axe to grind or misinterpreted a comment.

I’ve been part of plenty of decision making And hiring committees. The goal is to reach consensus and gain support for decisions from a majority. Throwing ideas or candidate names Out isn’t the same thing as standing behind any one candidate.
