real possibility that they'll play this year without fans in the stadium. If that happens, technically the cap will go down because it's tied to revenue. However, I've read that the cap going down would severely hurt teams and their planning, so they may just borrow cap money from future years in order to keep it flat, instead of going back. If that happened, it'll eventually go up still, but it'll take some time for it to increase substantially if they're borrowing money from future years, depending on what the shortcoming in revenue may be this year.
