Not a lasting one...kids worry about image & the NBA...

If you don’t play against the best, you don’t challenge yourself. Not likely the kids at North Carolina A&T are as good as Duke. Duke’s student managers would work many players from the MEAC. For elite players, it won’t advance their hoped career path.

And playing in crummy gyms with small crowds won’t be as fun and will not prepare them for the next step. The college experience (for basketball) would be diminished. For those not worried about the NBA, it could make a statement. However, many kids are delusional and think the NBA is realistic. In the long run, this wins out over noble aspirations or the desire to make a statement.
