Nikko spent zero time this offseason working on his 3 point shooting, doing dribbling drills, and attempting to perfect his face up jumper. We know that isn't the case with Tilmon the last two years. He puts a large amount of offseason development work on wasted activity. Observationally he also doesn't seem to develop in the skills that would actually benefit him, or at least not to the level of normal progression of someone with his physical skills.
Tilmon was a more technically sound post player at the beginning of his freshman year than he is now. He has mostly not learned anything at the college level and in several facets has actually regressed from his starting point. Its entirely plausible that he is not capable of learning it I suppose, but its irrefutable that he doesn't know how to do it now for whatever reason.

"Last season, Missouri forward Jeremiah Tilmon did not attempt a single three-point field goal. In the Mizzou Arena practice gym Thursday morning, he shot roughly 400. Once he’s finished with classwork Thursday evening, he will return and shoot 600 more.
Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin told media members Thursday that Tilmon is working to improve his jump shot by shooting about 1,000 three-pointers each day.
