I thought we deserved to be in the 20-22 range.

The biggest problems I have are VT and Tennessee ahead of us in the NFCA poll and those two plus Arkansas and Baylor ahead of us in the ESPN poll. And yes I know we came off a bad weekend, but when you look at our body of work over the first three weeks, we should be ahead of all those teams.

Arkansas is the biggest joke. They are 12-2 but haven’t played a single team ranked in the top 25, nor have they played a single team even getting a vote in either poll. They have played an awful schedule. And still managed to lose 2 games to Bradley and Montana. Say that cancels out our bad losses to Seattle and Cal Davis, ok. Then we have 4 top 25 wins, plus 2 more against teams getting votes. Arky has...nothing. Just ridiculous they are ahead of us in one poll and barely behind us in the other. They haven’t done squat this year.

Baylor is 14-2. Nice record. They have just 1 win over a ranked team, #18 Minnesota. And no wins over any teams receiving votes in the two polls. We have 4 top 25 wins, and 2 more against teams receiving votes. We have 2 bad losses, they have 1, 3-0 to Missouri St. Oh, and we run ruled Baylor 9-1 when we played them. How in the world do they have a better body of work than we do? And last night (after the polls came out), they barely beat an awful 3-11 LA Tech team, at home, 2-1.

Tennessee was 7-6 after the weekend. Then yesterday after the polls came out they needed a walk off HR, at home, to barely beat a mediocre 9-6 UT Martin team 3-2. But let’s look at their body of work compared to ours. 1 win over a top 25 team, while we have 4. 1 win against a team receiving votes, a 5-9 NW team getting a single vote. That’s it. 2 losses to top 25 teams, Arizona and Texas. And 4 losses to teams receiving votes, UCF and USF, twice each. They don’t have a bad loss, while we have 2, is all you can say in their favor. But we have 4 top 25 wins to their 1, and 2 wins to their 1 against teams receiving votes.

Virginia Tech is 12-3. Nice record. We beat them head to head. They have 2 top 25 wins (Minny and S.C.), we have 4 (Minny, Ok St, VT, Baylor). They have 1 win against teams receiving votes, that 5-9 NW team, we have 2 such wins.

Rant over. Going to be nice to get back into action on Saturday. Nothing to do mid week but complain about the polls and wonder who’s playing SS this weekend.
