this current virus, my skepticism tells me this is about news as a product and the ability to manipulate the market quite frankly.

There are 320,000,000 people in the US. There are 34 cases of the virus in the US. That percent is, well, not even a rounding error.

Many more people, by orders of magnitude in the 1000's, will get the flu today.
