Another wild ride.
#12 Tennessee loses twice more to fall to 7-5 overall. Gets thrashed again by UCF 9-1, then loses to USF 2-1.
#13 Kentucky beats Depaul 10-1, then gets whipped 7-1 by a 3-7 Georgia Tech team that they barely beat 10-9 on Friday. They are not one of the top 15 teams in the country, maybe more in the 20-25 range. Maybe.
Auburn plays #5 Arizona tough but loses 2-0. Arizona is a good team, maybe top 10, but they have struggled in 4 games this weekend against good and not so good SEC teams, losing to Florida and TAMU, and barely beating Mizzou and Auburn by 2-0 scores.
TAMU beat UC Davis 9-5.
#19 Georgia rolled on, run ruling #21 James Madison for the second straight day, 13-5, then beating Central Michigan 7-4.
#23 Arkansas beat Boston U 10-2, then got stunned by a 5-7 Montana team 5-0. Even more not sold on them after yesterday. They have played an awful schedule so far. Should fall out of the top 25 now.
Ole Miss split, playing #11 ULL tough in a 5-3 loss, then beating UAB 14-11.
#10 Alabama rolled, beating Louisville and Penn St 9-0 and 14-6.
Miss St lost to BYU 6-2 but then had a nice win over San Diego St 10-4, beating up on their ace Maggie Bailent, one of the three great pitchers to leave Oregon last year.
#6 LSU rolled on against an easy schedule, winning 20-4 and 4-0 over Sam Houston St and Belmont.
#22 SC had a great day, taking down #8 Michigan 3-0, then beating Iowa St 5-3. Earlier in the day Iowa St whipped Michigan 5-1, handing them their first loss of the year.
#7 Florida had a good day, impressed me. They beat #16 Arizona St 4-1, then lost to #1 UCLA 5-4 in 8 innings, despite getting outhit 13-4.
