Northwestern in Chicago and TCU, SMU in Dallas make a ton of sense due to the large alum bases there and Drink’s stated recruiting goals. Colorado, Colorado St. and Arizona State also make sense along similar lines. Big alum presences and Drink says Denver is a recruiting spot.
Notre Dame is guaranteed big time TV exposure and is not a far drive.
IL and ku are regional rivalries. Kstate is not a bad home and home either for MU with some KC bragging rights at stake.
I think tourist spots can be nice for fans so Tulane, UNLV, Central Florida, USF, Miami, UCLA, USC, Cal, Stanford might hold some fan interest.
Storied programs will get interest too. Ohio St., Michigan, Texas, Okie.
I do not like scheduling schools like Purdue and Indiana. No recruiting advantage and lil prestige. No tourism bump. Semi easy drive is about it. Of course you have to fill a schedule and there has to be two to tango.
