With Mizzou off, awaiting the trip to College Station on Sunday, there was some good action elsewhere in the SEC last night.

Georgia, fighting for an NCAA at large invitation, got a big win on the road, upsetting #21 Arkansas 64-55. Good close game through 3 quarters, with the Dogs pulling away by outscoring Arky 20-12 in the 4th quarter. They held Arky to 32 points below their season average. They need wins like this to get back on the bubble.

In the strangest game of the night, #9 Miss St won at Vandy, 68-52. Sounds normal right? Vandy is much improved, and recently had a big road win at Georgia, but got thrashed in their last 2 games against SC and Arky, 93-57 and 100-66. Last night Miss St was in command after the first quarter with a 10 point lead. Then Vandy outscored the #9 team in the nation 36-22 in the second and third quarters to take a 4 point lead into the fourth. Then Miss St outscored Vandy 22-2 in the 4th quarter to win going away.

#15 TAMU, playing their third straight game without injured all SEC/AA guard Chennedy Carter, won a tough game on the road against a dangerous Alabama team 79-74, coming from behind in the 4th quarter. Bama had #23 Tennessee all but beat in Knoxville on Monday before a miracle 3 with less than a second to go beat them. Good win for TAMU, who we face on Sunday. Have not heard how much longer Carter is going to be out or if she is available Sunday.

Finally, the two worst teams in tbe SEC went at it last night, Ole Miss at Auburn, both 0-5 in SEC play, and they didn’t disappoint. Haha. Auburn won 59-43, pulling away with a 21-9 run in the 4th quarter. They shot 30%, Ole Miss shot 27%. But the real gem was the second quarter, when Auburn outscored Ole Miss 4-2. May be the worst quarter 2 teams played all year in the NCAA. I wonder what the record is for fewest points scored by two teams in a quarter is. That has to be close.

And in a non conference game, #23 Tennessee lost to #3 UConn, 60-45. Typical Tennessee type of game. They played great in the first half and led UConn at the break, 31-28. Then got outscored 32-14 in tbe second half, including 21-7 in tbe third quarter. And they turned the ball over 27 times.
