I like Odom a lot. I wanted him to take over for Pinkel, and I wanted him to be successful here. But he had a golden opportunity this year and didn't come through.
I still think he'll be a very good head coach someday, but it was clear he wasn't ready, even after four years on the job. It's one thing to take a risk on an inexperienced head coach. It's another to continue taking that risk when, after four years, there are still big question marks. I wouldn't have been upset if he had been retained, but the move was justified.
Seeing as you're not even a Mizzou fan, I don't know why this bothers you so much.
