In 2015, we were saddled with a quarterback more interested in partying than playing football.

In 2016, we had a new coaching staff.

If Mauk doesn't flake out on his team and Pinkel doesn't get cancer, we're quite likely looking at a seven-year bowl streak right now.

Unless Fleck gets cancer and retires, they're probably not going to be dealing with the latter issue. The former can happen to anyone, but it's not really something you can plan for.
