Racism had zero to do with it

Sorry, but that's just crap. The underlying problem at the university may or may have not been due to racism. Frankly, it doesn't matter either way. But to suggest fans were being racist for what they did in 2015 is 100% BS.
The fans had every right to be upset when the football team that they support emotionally and financially decided to protest and not play football anymore. And it doesn't matter that it was resolved after a day or so, it's the decision that is the problem. It was a slap in the face. And the local media playing a clip the morning of the protest of 3 very high profile players coming out of the facility the morning of the actual protest with to-go containers of breakfast was very bad optics. So they wanted to protest playing football, but they still wanted to receive all the benefits of playing football?
So it was a bad situation. But it had nothing whatsoever to do with racism on the part of the fans.
