...an NBA post and gets some undeserved calls just for being forceful. I doubt he gets drafted, but I think he would be a smart UDFA signing. I could see him being a bench player in the league.
Here is an example. I've been a GSW fan, even when they were horrible. Last year they drafted Eric Paschall at #41. He is 24 yo, and a bit of a tweener because he is 6'8" and a little bit slow and limited on his range for a SF, and a bit short for a PF. However, he weighs 254 lbs and has a good vertical. What does he do, now that he is a pro? After being a bit timid initially, like he had to be in college, he has already figured out that he can bully opponents in the pro's. His scoring has gone up, even in his first 22 games as a pro.
I think Tilmon can be a bully, also. In the NBA, he won't have to play stupid, upright, hands in the air defense trying not to foul. I like HCCM, but he should have never coached that as an option.
I'm not sure if Tilmon is springy enough for the NBA. It is unclear if his shot will develop or not from mid-range and beyond. He does have good hands and a soft touch around the basket, IMO. That won't make you a star in the NBA, but a banger who can eat minutes, hustle, rebound, and finish around the hoop will always have a place on the bench. If Tilmon is athletic enough, his aggression will see him through, ISTM.
