Multiple reasons for it.
Yes, you get some attendance from people who will show up early for the men's game and watch.
You sell some extra concessions that way.
You save some money on facility and staff costs by opening the arena for 5-ish hours one night instead of3 hours on two nights.
And in conference play, it saves on travel when the men and women travel together.
It is happens some in lower levels.
