Three games into the season it seems to me pretty obvious how the season will play out.
The positives...Frank and Blackwell are promising players who surely will improve this season and hopefully will stay around and be the anchor of their teams. I see in Blackwell a player who is talented but undisciplined and inefficient, and not a great shooter or a natural score. Her playing style is far different than what Pingeton has always asked of her players so that could be a challenge.
Several continuous years of failed recruiting have resulted in a team with only one upperclassmen with the talent needed to compete.
If there were other young and promising players on this team you could bite the bullet and play them , but there are not so there are really no options.
The lack of athletic talent is obvious in the lack of quickness to even get to the spot to battle on the defensive boards.
The women’s team has had a good run of teams that looked well coached , were competitive, and fun to follow.
This team does not look currently looked we’ll coached, and looks like it will beat itself in the games it can stay close in.
