and they'll have trouble dumping those contracts, so I agree with your second point.
My take on Ozuna is that they will sign him for the right money. But they're not going to break the bank to sign him, because they have guys coming up like Carlson who they have confidence in. We'll see. To me, Ozuna is a good if not undisciplined hitter. He's not great. He can't throw and his fielding is well below average.
Fowler is a wild card. He sucked last year and played better this year, but really stunk it up in the postseason. I never liked the Cardinals signing him to begin with but they are stuck.
Part of the problem is that the Cardinals have to be less enthusiastic about Bader and O'Neill after this year. Bader can do everything but hit well enough to start in the Big Leagues. O'Neill appears to be the next Randal Grichuk.
