When he was asked to compare his ‘69 offense to Chase’s ‘07 offense, he said that would be like comparing a Model T with a Ferrari.
As loyal as I want to be to someone from my era, Phil Bradley, Steve Pisarkiewicz, and Pete Woods had more talent than McMillan or Gary Lane. From what I’ve read about Christman, he was a relatively slow runner but his instinct was uncanny. His passes were so “soft” that they were much more easily catchable.
I vote for Christman.
Even though we don’t necessarily want to include what these QBs achieved in the pros, Christman won an NFL championship with the Chicago Cardinals and achieved much more than any other Mizzou QB after college.
