Players are expendable and entertainment product pure and simple. I watch and come to see the Mizzou football team win! I could careless what the name of the player is under the helmet. I don't wear a Jersey of a College player or even follow one on twitter etc. To me it's about the Team winning.
They are highly compensated with free room,board, tutoring,swag for bowl games etc. They facilities are built for the players, nice locker rooms,meeting rooms,training rooms,rehab area's, weight room's and on down the line. The facilities draw in recruits they love that stuff.
The Money to build these facilities also benefits the Big donor fans who pony up their hard earned cash to build them.
If they start paying players more than they do now I'm done with it. College players are WAY to pampered now and are more Mercenary's than Student-athlete's. Most would't be on campus if they actually had to perform in the class room without spoon fed help.
