really bad idea to choose as a captain a player who is protesting the flag that will be worn on her jersey. It is a worse idea to make that person the focus of marketing leading up to the games.

She has every right to her personal beliefs, I disagree with her methods though. But making her captain suggested that the team endorsed her beliefs. Choosing her to market the team suggest that the US Soccer Federation endorses her beliefs. That is a bad look for both the team and the federation.

This is not a team I can root for. As I have said before, if you turn your back on America you lose the support of this American.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
