today really is all about making sure there aren't any bid-stealers still alive.
We HAVE to have UCSB beat Cal Poly tonight. If Cal Poly wins, they get the Big West bid and UCSB will be an at-large team. Irvine lost last night to a terrible Riverside team, so that just about eliminates them, but we can't have Cal Poly steal a bid. This is a HUGE game for us.
UCF won last night so they may have played their way in already. They play Cincy twice today to advance to the championship. At this point it might be worth rooting for them to advance just so as to knock off bid-stealer Cincy.
UCONN is playing Wichita St. We very much need UCONN to win.
Michigan is up 7-0 on Nebraska. Michigan probably has already played their way in, but it's still worth rooting for NU to win the next game (UM has to win twice to advance)
FAU plays UTSA. We need FAU to win the CUSA tourney so we need them to win. Southern Miss may have already played their way in, but we very much want Rice to beat them at least once today.
TCU is still alive in the Big 12 semis. We need them to lose today. They play a suspended 5th inning game vs. Baylor and if they win (they are up 5-2) they have to beat Ok. St. We need them to lose today and not get a chance at stealing a bid tomorrow by winning the Big 12.
Boston College plays UNC today. This is another game that is important. We need UNC to beat BC today and knock them out of a potential bid-stealing ACC championship tomorrow.
Creighton is in the Big East championship game. They will have to beat either Xavier or St. John's, who play earlier today. That winner will have to beat Creighton twice. We HAVE to have Creighton win the Big East championship.
Fresno plays the MWC championship against either Nevada or UNLV. Same with Creighton, we HAVE to have them win the MWC championship.
