5 of 6 seeded SEC teams advanced to Sunday in a commanding position to move on to the super regionals: Alabama, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

Ole Miss was the only seeded team to lose, to ULL, 2-0, which was not unexpected. They came back to beat SEMO tonight, and now will have to beat ULL twice tomorrow to advance. At home, I think they have a 50/50 shot.

The 4 unseeded SEC teams in the winners bracket of their regionals all lost, Mizzou, Auburn, Georgia, Miss St. All will have to win an elimination game tonight to advance to Sunday, where they will have to win twice to advance. Georgia blew a 1-0 lead against Minny in the bottom of the 7th to lose 2-1. And Auburn played Arizona really tough, lost 2-1. I think those two teams have a realistic chance of winning two tomorrow to advance. But right now it’s looking like the SEC will advance 5 teams to the super regionals, and maybe 1-3 more, but it won’t be easy.

So far just 3 national seeds are in the losers bracket: Texas, Ole Miss, and Northwestern, who despite being gifted a ridiculously easy draw as a 16 seed managed to lose at home to a mediocre Louisville team 2-1 today.
