Good news and bad news for Mizzou softball...

in the results of the other conference tournaments.
Regular season champs UIC lost in their tournament to Detroit Mercy, who gets the auto bid. They were the closest possible tourney team to Northwestern, so if NW got seeded, and couldn’t play at home because their pathetic facilities didn’t meet NCAA standards, they would now have to go farther away than the greater Chicago area, to the home field of a #2 seed, like Notre Dame or Missouri.
However, NW got whipped 2/3 games against Minny to end the regular season, then had a rather underwhelming B1G tourney, barely beating Indiana 1-0 and then getting shut out by Minny in the semis.
They are less likely now to get a top 16 seed. If they don’t, then I’m afraid we are going to get sent to Norman or one of the 3 PAC 12 powers.
