Although Missouri has not been better than Tennessee every single year of that time period, on average Missouri has won at least a game more per season. Missouri is 128-78 (27th in wins) and Tennessee is 111-90 (48th in wins) over that stretch.
When it comes to evaluating coaches and the current state of the program, folks have got to quit living in the past. In the here and now, Missouri is a formidable opponent for our Vols. That fact is not changed by our history and resources, although our history and resources do mean we have a better chance of getting back into the upper echelon of teams than they do. Still, right now, there is absolutely no basis to assume we should beat them next year, they literally have beaten us by 66 points in the last two years. It is a toss-up, at best.
