which I feared. For whatever reason we don’t come out strong in many of these midweek games against teams we should handle. But SEMO is a decent team. They haven’t played a very challenging schedule, are 1-4 against top 25 RPI teams and have only played 1 team in the top 26-50. But they did beat Arkansas 6-1 on the road.

This shouldn’t hurt our RPI. SEMO came in at #59, with a 35-12 record. So even with our beating them twice, we add 70 wins and just 28 losses to our cumulative opponents W-L records, which is 50% of our raw RPI score.

And, winning helps. It’s the one single thing we control. And while our winning % is just 25% of our raw RPI score, by winning 3 over TAMU and 2 tonight, moving our record from 24-18 to 29-18, we have increased our own winning % from .571 to .617 which is significant.

Just playing Miss St 3 games this weekend will also help, almost regardless of how many games we take off of them, since their RPI rank is 33 and they have the 7th toughest strength of schedule in the nation.
