be drafted at the lowest possible position given his ability. I think he still gets drafted, but again much like Micheal there is probably an equal or greater likelihood he never actually plays in an NBA game as there is that he has a successful NBA career. He is probably headed for a G-League/overseas career. Which should be nearly impossible given his ability.
Its really a shame. Sure injuries significantly contributed to their circumstances. But additionally every decision point they had available to them they always selected the path that made it the least likely and most challenging that they would ever have an NBA career. Its definitely a lesson in minimizing utility.
The crazy thing is I used to make a top 100 Tigers of all time list, which I think I last updated in 2013. Since that point Jababi Brown would need to be added, and most likely Kassius Robertson and Jordan Clarkson in the high 80's or low 90's. We have had no other players since 2013 that would really even warrant consideration to be included. Its astounding that neither Micheal or Jontay would come close to being among the top 100 Tigers to play for MU given their ability. Both of their final games at MU came against FSU in our first round NCAA tourney loss. Micheal looked terrible and essentially caused the loss, and Jontay scored 2 points. They were a combined 5-19 from the field in a game we scored only 54 points, then left for the NBA. That essentially sums up the Porter experience for MU men's basketball.
