if fans were ready to completely give up on the school over that, then they aren't coming back.

Time for the AD to recruit a new base. Unfortunately, there hasn't been enough success to transform the latest students into long time fans who will return for season tickets. Plus, it's a different market now where the students don't even go to the games since they can just watch them on tv.

Not an easy puzzle to solve for the AD.
