But if there was a player at a Nike-sponsored school who needed special accommodations to ensure his safety, they'd get it.

They're not giving him a competitive edge or special perks so much as they're ensuring the equipment he's provided like every other athlete is safe. Normal shoes aren't made for guys like him.
