The problem with fake hate crimes like this, is they essentially are looked at as "harmless", so they don't get much more than probation.
which, results in far more fake hate crimes, because even when caught, you don't face much penalty, and in the short run you got plenty of press for your cause.
Fake hate crimes, imaginary racism can be extremely profitable to the accuser. Deray Mckesson, Talcum X, Jonathan butler come to mind.
The only true way to stop this shyte, is to make it more painful to do than profitable.
