Haven’t posted my thoughts on Mizzou’s 8-2 start, but it has been encouraging overall, particularly with Gasper emerging as a viable #2.

We play these teams this year in the SEC:

Bama
Georgia
UK
Tenn
Ole Miss
TAMU
MSU
SC

So we avoid:

Fla
LSU
Arky
Aub

Tennessee will be tough. I hope to steal one game from them.
Alabama and Georgia are hard to figure because of awful non conference schedules. At the start of the season I thought we would likely get swept by them both, but now I’m not so sure. Could pick up a game in each series.

Kentucky and SC both looked shakey out of the gate. UK rebounded nicely but still has 5 losses. I like our chances now to go 3-3 combined in those 2 series. That is not an overly optimistic or aggressive projection.

That would get us to 6 wins in those 5 series.

Then we get 9 games against TAMU, Ole Miss, Miss St, who I think finish in the bottom 4 in the conference. We go 6-3 there, and that puts us at 12-12 in the SEC. I would take that in a heartbeat now. If we lose no games to .500 in SEC play, we absolutely will get an at large bid to the NCAAs. And if our pitching holds up, I could see a ceiling of even 13-11 or maybe 14-12 in conference. Lots of people maybe think that’s crazy, even perhaps me when I sober up tomorrow morning.
