As the story points out, the Big 10 and SEC joined with Fox and ESPN to produce their networks.

The Pac 12 decided to do theirs on their own.

That ups their costs considerably and makes distribution a challenge.

Had they simply partnered with ESPN, they'd be in much better shape right now.
