My memory is that we used to have a ticket lottery (also in football) and you would get assigned seats for the year. If you or a friend had a high lottery number, you could pay an upgrade fee for A or B section. Might have paid for C, but D was free with the all-sports pass. I thought the student section was continuous from one sideline up to D. Antlers were always near the top of A.
Then the student senate president one year requested that they move students to the end behind one backboard to distract free throw shooters. Alden was happy to do that and sell the better tickets to alumni.
