My parents were brought up in the depression. They were brought up hardass by their parents through necessity.

They were hard on me and my siblings...we've been very productive citizen's most likely due to them.

Make no mistake we loved our parents enough to take care of them until their end of life in their own home with all their kids present.

So I have to disagree with you on this.
