Do you have a potential conflict? Why would your knowledge of things about Company X not be relevant to their discussion about Common Company Y? Do you think it would taint your analyst role? Isn't part of being an analyst knowing what the impact of the secondary might be?

It would seem to me that it might make you privy to material non-public information that would render you unable to do your analyst function.
