He'll probably feel better than ever once he's back to 100%. He had been dealing with persistent knee pain for years, and had only just started relieving it due to the great physical training he was getting now. Once he dedicates more time to that and stays in great shape with a brand new ligament, I imagine he'll be ready to have an awesome pro career.
