or animal cartilage, organs, proteins, etc. Plants are alive just like animals! They produce & contain these defensive and offensive chemicals to keep from being eaten by microbes, bugs or other larger animals etc. For example, plants even go so far as to attack human reproduction, so there will be less people around to eat them in the future. In other words they are literally trying to kill you!
There are specific sacrificial substances one can eat that they will attack instead of ones that compose the physical human body. I have them and use them and are still gauging when and how much to take of them. My own results show they can work very well. But for now I'm focused studying/battling other things, but I've planned to get back to that issue in time.
Another general way to neutralize them is to cook your food with enough temperature and length of time. Some can be inactivated by merely soaking in water beforehand. A few of them are really hard to knock out, like say in wheat. So one can limit/drop the food entirely or use sacrificial supplements & cook them with enough heat/pressure in a pressure cooker to achieve results.
I assume most doctors or other "experts" don't now what they are doing - until proven otherwise. So that would include the entirety of Mizzou and all the Porters.
A vegetarian can eat enough protein to supply daily wants or needs. That's as basic as counting grams of protein. Who doesn't know that?
One can also buy free form amino acids, powders can be fairly affordable. Some need to be taken individually on an empty stomach to achieve adequate absorption.
But, eh, Mizzou sports has not hired me as your expert on nutrition.
