After waving the South Korean flag in the 2018 Asian Games, former Star Hotshots Ricardo Ratliffe is set to do so again in the Asia League’s Terrific 12 tilt, as he will be spearheading the campaign of KBL ball club Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in Macau.

Mobis Phoebus is one of the two South Korean teams in the tournament that will run from September 18 to 23. The other Korean ball club is the Seoul Samsung Thunders, the runners-up in this year’s Summer Super 8 tilt.

Ratliffe has long been involved in Korean basketball – he was even naturalized early this year and has played for its national team since. He started in Korea in 2012 with Mobis Phoebus, after his college career in Missouri.

In the Terrific 12, the Hyundai-backed ball club is in Group B, along with the Mo Speights-reinforced Guangzhou Long-Lions from the Chinese Basketball Association and Japan B.LEAGUE’s Chiba Jets, the inaugural Super 8 kings.

Given that, Ratliffe won’t be facing Philippine contingent iECO Green Warriors, who have his former Star Hotshots teammate Mark Cruz in the PBA – not unless Mobis Phoebus and iECO will go all the way to the Finals.

The Green Warriors are in Group C, together with another CBA team Xinjiang Flying Tigers – who have 14-year NBA veteran Al Jefferson as one of their reinforcements – and the Fubon Braves of Chinese Taipei’s SBL.

Ratliffe and Mobis Phoebus will start their Terrific 12 campaign on Day 2 of the basketball spectacle on September 19, Wednesday, against Guangzhou.
