It was a horrid situation. If not for the faithful 35,000 or so fans that kept going the whole thing might have folded. There was talk of making Mizzou a "finishing school" - a two year graduate only school at that time and totally dismantling the sports programs. Those curators at that time along with Kiesler were literally insane.
