The article doesn't say that. Do you have personal knowledge or are you making an assumption?

The girl grew up on Long Island, went to college at Hofstra 10 minutes away, and now thinks that Syracuse is a long ways away. Has it occurred to you that maybe she just didn't want to go to school over 1,000 miles away??
