It will be interesting to see how Bieser handles the starting pitching. Tuesday vs. USCe is a must-win game, so if Sikkema is at all able to go for 6 innings, I think Bieser has to start him. If 5 days rest isn't enough, the next option is either Sharp or MDO. Personally, I would go with MDO as he has SEC starting experience, but have Sharp mentally ready to come in early on if MDO struggles at all.

Toelken threw ~60 pitches Thursday, so he should be good to give us 3 innings tomorrow if we can just get through 6 innings with whomever.

Assuming we win tomorrow without Sikkema, our rotation should set up well after that, with Sikkema/Plassmeyer both getting guaranteed starts since it will be double elimination. With Arkansas (and hopefully later Florida) they will be wanting to preserve their rotations for the regionals, so there is a good chance (as there is with USCe) that we will see one of their lesser arms against our better arms, so that should work in our favor.

But it's all moot if we lose tomorrow.

     It's going to be a very interesting decision - bolivartiger MU - 5/21 09:35:05
Another thought is start MDO (or Sharp) and have Sikkema - MizzouAstro MU - 5/21 09:38:48
               I hadn't even considered that option - bolivartiger MU - 5/21 09:52:34
