I wouldn't be surprised if this kid he just signed has red flags that kept DI teams away.
6-4 and scores that much? And he's not beating up on small schools. Enrollment there is 1,100+.
I don't know anything about the kid, but it seems like the reason he's going DII might not be related to talent.
At DII, you can go after flawed but talented guys and out-talent your opponents of you do it well.
At the DI level, there is a huge supply of equally or more talented players who also don't have issues.
Someone also once speculated that Anderson's style resonates better with players who know he's their last chance. They're there for a reason, they have something to prove, and if it doesn't work out, the next step is probably the end of their college career.
In DI, that rarely exists. If things don't work out, players just transfer.
