2016: 26-30.
Unearned Runs: 60. 1.07/game.
Errors: 81. 1.44/game.
Team ERA: 4.34.
Total runs given up/game: 5.78....UGH.
Disaster of a defense in HCTJ's last year.
2017: 36-23.
Unearned Runs: 55. 0.932/game.
Errors: 79. 1.34/game.
Team ERA: 3.67.
Total Runs given up/game: 5.01....ick. But better.
2018: 21-7.
Unearned Runs: 6. 0.21/game.
Errors: 18. 0.64/game.
Team ERA: 2.91.
Total runs given up/game: 3.12.
Our defense is roughly 45% better than 2 years ago.
I completely understand that with our upcoming schedule, these numbers are likely to worsen, however, we now have 50% of the schedule in the books. RPI wins over Top 25 teams (5) bested only by Texas Tech & Auburn.
Despite having next to no power, the plate discipline, pitching and defense have completely turned this team around. Kudos to HCSB!
