dumpster fire programs (SMS, Tenn, Cal, MU).

He spent 3 years at SMS, Tenn, Cal, and 1 year at MU, for 10 years total.

But 10 years spread across 4 rebuild jobs is much different than 10 years at the same job, where you have stability and time to recruit and develop your own players, build relationships on the recruiting trail, etc.

New coaches aren't expected to reach Elite 8s in their first 3 years of a rebuild job. Those are considered rebuild years.
