I don’t know anything about Ellison, but assume she’s transferring. Might be wrong of course. She looked good in a couple of at bats I saw her in Arizona.
I can see why EE hired Gina. She’s a good person and the kids like her. She’s a tiger through and through. I’m just for a fresh start with a dynamic new coach. No offense to Pete, but I don’t want him personally either.
Callie is a very good center fielder, she’s a definite keeper. Brooke is a good one, she’ll be fine. I thought one of the two freshmen catchers that are playing would stand out, but it’s only been sporadic. Kara Decker is one I hope they find a lot more at bats for. Rice has been pretty good for a freshman with a heavy load.
Teams are pitching around Amanda, or very carefully. If nobody steps up behind her consistently good, we’re in real trouble offensively. I’ll pick on Riley for her only 10 RBI’s at this point. She’s been better than last year at the plate, but is hitting in a run producing spot. No one else is doing much in that department. I like Kayla as a hitter, I think she can produce in the middle of the lineup.
Having a great SS is a good place to start in a rebuild along with another ace pitcher. I liked what I saw out of the Mississippi State SS. It’s a critical position.
