did a clinic & Dave spoke at our banquet. I was a freshman in HS & they were teaching freestyle for our summer tournaments. Dave Schultz was one of the nicest individuals I’ve ever met but he was a SOB on the mat...even when teaching a technique. Because I was one of the bigger guys my age (& my dad the wrestling coach), I was the wrestling dummy getting thrown around.
I can proudly claim that I’ve had more Olympic medalists sleep in my bed than anyone here (& there’s a good chance, the entire country). Virtual Who’s Who of the wrestling world came through our town & stayed in my room.
