Question about history of MU*

A lot of recruiting threads, so here's another. Has Mizzou EVER dominated StL recruiting? You can define "dominate" however you want - majority of top players, consistent year in and year out recruiting, etc.
I have been a fan since the late 1970s, and to be honest I can't ever recall a time when Mizzou was consider THE destination for in state kids. Maybe at Pinkel's peak? And yes, I realize there were some terrible years since the 1970s, so the history is skewed. But, it sort of dawned on me while reading the various threads below that I can't recall Mizzou ever doing very well in StL. Am I wrong?
*just read the article discussed below. So that sort of answers the question. But what about further back in time?
