Schools are always looking to fill classes and will always take talent, no matter how late in their high school career. The truer statement might be that your ability to get scholarship dollars decreases dramatically the later in the process you are. But always remember that these are non-binding verbal offers so the coach doesn't have to honor it if the 13 year old throwing 60 hasn't advanced by the time they are 17 and others have moved past them, nothing keeps either party from walking away.
