old design lacking modern architectural creativity compared to other buildings of that era that are still in basketball use. Look at Brewer compared to Hinkle Fieldhouse and Palestra which are actually older. Brewer looks like it was designed to hold livestock. It was an addition to Rothwell Gymnasium built in 1905 so maybe they wanted it to look similar.
