It was his terrible postgame press conferences more than anything that made me think he was not the right guy for the job. He seemed to be desperate to prove to himself that he was the right guy...there was no way based on that I could think he was and I hated that. All these euphemisms and rah rah quotes. It was amateur hour.
Well, if he deserved criticism, he deserves credit. He actually followed through on those rah rah quotes. It got rough and, wow, the tough did get going.
But it's more than just a bowl eligible season salvaged from the depths of disaster. This team learned how to play and did so utilizing young players. That is invaluable towards next year and beyond.
It's nothing short of an incredible turnaround. Which, if you're keeping score, makes two incredible turnarounds for Mizzou sports in one year.
I'm happy.
