He came to be our HC because no big money coach or hotter young coach wanted to come to Columbia. It's funny how people forget these things over time.

My point is, we couldn't hire a big name coach two years ago after Pinkel left. It's illogical to think that we may be able to do so now, after two awful seasons under Odom.

Just a thought. We all think MU is so great because it's the only big time school in a state with a good amount of talent, but the fact is, for whatever reason, it's not viewed as a great job by the coaching community apparently.

Frankly, I don't know if the last vacancy was so difficult to fill because of the whole CS1950 fiasco, the program itself or some combination.

I just know we need to make a change and it will be interesting to see if Sterk opens the vault to get the right guy. I personally cannot stomach another two decades of futile football at my alma mater.
